chispasyresplandores asked: i love your champs du mars picture, I was in paris for two days, saw versailles, the louvre, invalide, champs elysees, luxembourg gardens, arc de triumph, eiffel tower, dorsay, and a number of other amazing things, but nothing was as perfect as my friends and I grabbing baguettes and brie and eating them on the champs du mars.. you're making me nostalgic (thank you/jerk!) =P
You got a lot done in two days! I was there for a week and even then there’s a lot I missed out on seeing (pere lechaise, the catacombs and the cinemateque francaise being the main two that I’m most upset about having not gone to)…but the night I took that picture was the one perfect moment on a trip that was otherwise the most trying one I’ve ever been on.
We went to Versailles that morning and then we did the whole champs du mars picnic on a whim and the sun was setting and the wine was strong and the next thing I knew the park was closing and it was midnight and we were all laughing on the metro trying to remember our respective stops…it kind of made everything else worth it, especially in retrospect when I think of it as motivation to go back there again someday on different terms (aka not one-meal-a-day-broke).
